This Privacy Policy describes how Schemalicious ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you install and use our Shopify application ("the App"). By installing or using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect via Shopify APIs

When you install the App, we access certain information from your Shopify store through Shopify's APIs, including:

• Store name, domain, and contact email
• Merchant profile details
• Product, collection, and page data (titles, descriptions, images, variants, pricing)
• Theme information for app extension configuration
• Metafield data for storing generated schemas

We do not access or store your customers' personal information, payment details, or order data.

2. Information We Collect Directly

We may also collect the following information directly from you:

• Contact information you provide (e.g., for support requests)
• App configuration settings and preferences
• Schema generation preferences and custom AI prompts
• Automated usage logs, including pages visited within the App, features used, timestamps, and device type

3. Customer and Storefront Visitor Privacy

Schemalicious does not collect, track, or store any information about your customers or storefront visitors. Our theme extension renders structured data (JSON-LD) on your storefront pages without using any tracking technologies, cookies, or scripts that identify individual visitors. The structured data is served statically from Shopify metafields.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect solely for operational purposes:

• Installing, authenticating, and maintaining the App
• Generating AI-powered structured data (JSON-LD) for your products, collections, and pages
• Performing schema audits and calculating health scores
• Syncing generated schemas to Shopify metafields
• Providing customer support and responding to inquiries
• Monitoring App performance and improving our services

We do not use your data for advertising, marketing to your customers, building interest-based profiles, or any form of ad targeting.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the App:

• Shopify: Platform APIs for store data access and metafield storage. See Shopify's Privacy Policy.
• Anthropic (Claude AI): AI model used to generate structured data schemas. Product data sent to Claude is processed according to Anthropic's Privacy Policy. We use the API with zero data retention — your data is not used to train AI models.

We do not sell, rent, or share your information with any other third parties, except as required by law.

6. Data Sharing

We may share your information only in the following circumstances:

• With service providers who assist in operating the App, under data processing agreements
• When required by law, regulation, or legal process
• To protect the rights, safety, or property of Schemalicious, our users, or others

7. Data Retention

We retain your data as follows:

• Store data and generated schemas: Deleted within 30 days of App uninstallation
• Usage logs: Purged after 90 days
• Support correspondence: Retained for 12 months

8. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on servers located in the United States and protected with TLS encryption in transit and encryption at rest. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction.

If you are located in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, by using the App you consent to the transfer and processing of your data in the United States.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access: Request a copy of the data we hold about you
• Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data
• Deletion: Request deletion of your data
• Restriction: Request restriction of processing
• Portability: Request a portable copy of your data
• Objection: Object to certain types of processing

10. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on our website with a revised "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
